Rajasthan Government Bans Padmavat’s Release Even After These Major Changes Are Made
Padmavati movie controversy is getting worse day by day. Every day a new problem is arising from the film and the protest of Rajput groups is getting intense day by day. The problem had started because of a rumor about certain scenes in the movie which offended the Rajput groups and they blamed Sanjay Leela Bhansali for distorting history and protests started against the movie.
The protests got intense and the makers were forced to shift the release date and get a clearance by a special board formed by the government. The CBFC had given some instructions about few changes in the movie and various scenes being cut and then it was given UA certificate and the title was changed to Padmavat.
The list of the modifications done by CBFC:
1 – The board has asked the filmmakers to cover Deepika’s stomach in the song Ghoomar.
2 – The word Delhi has been eliminated. Bhansali has shown Padmini going to Delhi with 800 dolis for her Johar or Sati. The board has asked them to delete Delhi.
3 – Usually a film has one disclaimer – but in Padmavat – there will be two disclaimers. The board has asked him to change it to just fiction. Also, there is another disclaimer which is added mentioning that the maker does not believe or endorse the practice of Sati. However, the Rajput groups are not at all satisfied with this and are demanding a complete ban on the movie.
The makers have decided to release the movie on January 25 this year. Akshay Kumar’s Padman which is releasing on the same day will clash with Padmavat. The Rajasthan government has reportedly banned the release of the film in their state keeping in mind, sentiments of people. Let us wait for further developments related to the movie and its controversy.
