Hrithik Roshan to play Shiva in Bhansali’s adaptation of ‘Shiva Trilogy’ adaptation
Ancient stories! That’s nothing new to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. The actor has already wooed audiences in his films like Jodha Akbar and Mohenjo Daro. If we don’t get to the box-office collections, Hrithik’s performances in both the films were completely remarkable.
And now, it is being speculated that Hrithik might be seen essaying the character of Lord Shiva in Sanjay Leela Bhasnali’s next Bollywood venture. The untitled film is the adaptation of ‘The Immortals of Meluha’.
If we go by the sources, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to make a film which will be an adaptation of the book ‘Immortals of Meluha’.
Written by acclaimed author Amish Tripathi, this book is the first in the popular fiction series Shiva trilogy. It is followed by The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras. The story unfolds when Lord Shiva came to rule over Meluha and marry his beloved Parvati.
Also, there have been rumours that the film’s rights had been bought by Karan Johar who was also supposed to direct the film. However, it was also reported that Johar dropped these plans because of the repercussions of making a film based on a Hindu God.
Hence, the rights of the film got expired with Johar and he then surrendered them. That was the time when Bhansali expressed his interest in the story.
The film which Johar was about to make on this particular story was titled Shuddhi. From Varun Dhawan to Salman Khan to Tiger Shroff various actors were supposed to be a part of Johar’s dropped venture.
Yet, there was a different explanation from the writer of the Book Amish Tripathi. He claimed that the contract was expired and Johar and he have parted as friends.
But, neither Sanjay Leela Bhansali nor Hrithik Roshe actor, who is presently enjoying in the US with his sweet kids, has made an official declaration on the same.
