7 Movies You Won't Believe Anushka Sharma Rejected

And providing definitive proof towards that end is our Band Baaja Baraat diva, Anushka Sharma. Here are seven movies you will not believe she turned down:

Tamasha
A romantic movie helmed by Imtiaz Ali and starring the magnificent Ranbir Kapoor – What’s not to love? A lot apparently, especially if you happen to be Anushka Sharma. The leggy lass turned down Imtiaz Ali’s next with her reluctance to repeat her pairing opposite Ranbir from Bombay Velvet cited as the reason for the rejection.

We kid you not. Rumour has it that the script for Karan Johar’s hit 2014 romcom passed through Anushka’s hands before landing at Alia Bhatt’s doorstep eventually.

PK
Fret not; a simple case of miscommunication meant that Rajkumar Hirani almost didn’t cast Anushka in the lead role of his 300 crore grosser. Before any fatal harm was inflicted on her movie career though, Anushka cottoned on and approached him the next day.

Farhan Akhar’s next
With blockbusters like Don & Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara to his credit, Farhan Akhtar is hardly a producer to scoff at, but his next outing featuring Sidharth Malhotra mysteriously landed with Katrina despite Anushka being finalized for the role earlier.

Aagadu – Mahesh Babu
While most Bollywood actresses believe in multi-tasking between Bollywood and its Southern counterpart, South superstar Mahesh Babu wasn’t as lucky. Ironically, the movie in question went on to crash box office records on its opening weekend, defeating the likes of Kick & Krrish 3.

Junior NTR & Allu Arjun
Ditto for these two Southern stars. Buzz has it that it was the actress’ hefty price tag that prevented further opportunities in the South from knocking at her door.

Honorary Mention: 3 Idiots
And while we are still on the topic of movie rejections, Anushka has faced a few of her own with a recently released video portraying how her screen test for 3 Idiots was firmly turned down by Rajkumar Hirani!
