Steven Spielberg is Second Highest-Paid Celebrity with $100 Million

Forbes magazine has just unveiled its list of top twenty highest-paid celebrities of 2013, with Madonna taking first. Even though the singers new album sold fewer than one million copies, her tour was an incredible success, bringing her earnings to a whopping $125 million. That's a record for Madonna.

Steven Spielberg took second place with $100 million, mostly from his library of films and a portion of all ticket sales from Universal theme parks. Simon Cowell landed in third place with $95 million, with most of the money coming from "The X Factor" and "Got Talent," which have its own versions in dozens of countries.

Cowell actually tied EL James and Howard Stern for third place. James is the author of the popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" books, while Stern keeps making money from Sirius/XM. He also earned about $15 million for being a judge on "America's Got Talent."
